Jeremiah 17:7-8

Release and rest

Make your work holy, daughter.

Give it to me so I can bless it,

So I can guide you.

Do not clutch it

Or believe it only belongs to you.

It isn’t wrong to

Release it, to

Rest.

Take in my grace.

Accept my peace.

I provide them, no matter what you’ve done

Or haven’t done.

You will be fruitful

When you rest.

See Genesis 2:2-3; Psalm 127:2; Ecclesiastes 4:5-6 and 5:16-20; Matthew 6:24-30; Mark 2:27 and 6:30-44; Romans 3:27-28; Colossians 3:23-24

These links share just a glimpse of the story God is telling us. When you have time, read a chapter or two around the verses to get the context and see the whole picture. My preferred Bible translation is the New Living Translation, so all links will be in that version.

Enjoy

For now, daughter, rest.

Enjoy today.

Enjoy what I give you.

Enjoy this time.

You’re forgiven and cleared to do so.

You always have been.

You always will be.

Don’t be afraid that nothing will get done.

It will.

And there will be joy at what we accomplish

Together,

All at the right time.

Accept the gift

Daughter, rest.

Rest in me.

Remember that I am your love.

I am your peace.

I am the bearer of your burdens.

Not you.

This is my gift to you.

Accept it, child.

Don’t leave the gift unopened, unused.

Take it, accept it.

Enjoy it, cherish it.

Show it off.

Don’t hide it.

Use it.

And tell me about it.

Keep talking to me, daughter.

We will be working together.

But for now, you can rest.
