Daughter, you can’t listen unless

You let go.

Your mind is crowded,

And it’s hard to hear.

I speak loud, clear

When you truly

Listen.

It won’t always feel comfortable

Or safe

To clear, uncrowd.

But truly,

It is.

I AM here,

Above,

Beneath,

Behind,

Beside

Crowded

Noise, clutter.

I never left it,

Waited for you

To hear me.

Do you hear?

Do you hear, my daughter?

Do you hear

Hope?

Hope is loud, quiet,

Strong, soft,

Shouting, whispering,

Boisterous, unintrusive,

Demanding, relenting.

Uncrowd,

Free,

Let go,

Let me.

I will never fail.

I will never leave.

I will never be far.

I will be near when you feel lost,

Hopeless,

Because it is not lost, hope

Is never lost.

It is found.

It is championed,

Lit onto

A footpath, a spark

To fire.

The fire inside

My daughter

Burns

Even when she doesn’t hope.

Just think how bright

When she lets it burn.

Let go, my daughter.

Let go.

Let go and let it

Burn.
