Jeremiah 17:7-8

Category: Purpose Page 1 of 2

Only with me

Daughter, you can be my vessel,

My servant, my messenger.

But you can only do it with me.

Only with me

Can your purpose, your hope

Be fulfilled.

The world wants to offer you a replica

Of my plan.

It will look the same.

It will hold “promise.”

It will feel easier.

It will be false.

Nothing can replace or replicate

What I have done for you,

What I have for you.

But you must stay with me because

It is only through me.

See Proverbs 3:5-6; Matthew 20:26-28; John 6:60-69, 13:6-17, 13:20, 14:1-14, and 15:1-17; 2 Corinthians 4:7; Ephesians 3:20; Philippians 4:13; 2 Timothy 2:20-21

Just for you

Daughter, stay with me

And I’ll take you

Where you never thought possible.

You’ve always thought

Your destiny isn’t possible.

It isn’t possible for

Someone like you.

The truth is

I want someone just like you for

This assignment.

No one else can fulfill it.

It’s made for you.

I designed you for it,

For today,

For tomorrow,

For all your days.

No one can do the good things

I have for you.

I made them

Just for you.

Empowered

Now you are released, daughter.

I know it’s been hard.

You want it all to be right.

You don’t want to be false.

But don’t worry.

Remember who guides you, who sees you,

Who protects you.

You are armed today.

You are empowered by me.

Your enemy has no place.

Remember how I said I have authority?

Authority over you and your spirit that your enemy

Desperately wants.

He wants to stop me.

But he can’t.

I have all authority

In heaven and on earth.

So don’t listen to the lies.

Listen to the truth and

Believe it.

Believing is your best armor.

You are a warrior with my armor.

With me, you are strong and know your place.

Don’t ever let anyone make you think otherwise.

Now go forward, knowing you are protected and

Empowered.

Be empowered to love,

To believe,

To walk where I have you,

To run when you need to,

To fight,

To pray,

To read,

To think,

To write, to be

My daughter.

In, with, and through

Daughter, why do you wonder how

You can do what you do?

What you’re supposed to do?

What you’re called to do?

Why do you believe that somehow

It’s all you?

It’s not, daughter.

I am working in you and with you and

Through you.

The good things you do are not on your own.

It isn’t luck.

It isn’t because of your hard work.

It’s because I have made a way for you.

What I love most

Listen to this week’s word

Daughter, your heart is what I love most.

I know what it wants.

I know what excites it, and it is beautiful.

Daughter, you are beautiful.

What you’re doing now, with me, is beautiful.

Doesn’t it feel better?

Doesn’t it make more sense for you to be with me?

It does.

It does because I made you, because I know you.

I know what’s best for you.

I know the right time to take you to something new.

You have to trust me.

Remember that this is your calling.

To trust.

To love.

To know me.

To share it.

To show it.

See I Samuel 16:7; Psalm 23; Psalm 34:18; Psalm 37:3-5 and 23; Psalm 40:1-8; Psalm 51:10 and 16-17; Psalm 139; Proverbs 3:5-6; Jeremiah 17:5-10; Ezekiel 36:22-27; Matthew 22:37-40; John 2:23-25, 3:1-21, and 14; Ephesians 1:18; Philippians 4:6-7

The desire and the power

Listen to a reading of the text below

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

-Philippians 2:13

Daughter, I know you struggled with that verse today.

It’s okay to struggle with the Word sometimes. You are human, and sometimes you don’t understand.

Remember that you always have the desire to do what pleases you – again, you are human.

But the desire to please me can take some time.

I’m teaching you this. I’m always teaching you this.

And yes, I will give you the desires of your heart.

But let’s look at your heart first.

Does it want to serve me or serve you?

Don’t you think I need someone to serve me where you are?

See.

That’s hard for you to ponder. Hard for you to hear. You don’t want to serve there.

Remember how I said I was teaching you to think differently?

Think about Jeremiah. Think about Daniel. Think about Moses.

Did they always like where they were assigned?

Think about Jonah and Joseph.

Did they like serving me where they were?

I put you in places where you’ll be different, but I give you people who aren’t so different to help.

Your sisters. Your family. Your children. Your friends.

Places and riches and things are made by man, but you, daughter, are made by me.

Don’t think for a second that you are less than what man makes or that it has to influence you.

Don’t think that you must conform or belong.

I put you here not to belong but to show my light.

Show them who I am, even if you think they won’t care or it won’t do any good.

Daniel was just a man, but with me, he was more. Same with the others.

Look at what they did. Look at how they showed my glory for generations to see, for you to see.

Think of these deep things, and try to understand.

Think of how I am working on your behalf, wherever you are.

And don’t forget the things that bring you joy without you even having to try.

I give those to you as a gift.

The hard things are a gift, too.

You’ll see it.

Just give yourself time.

Listen to me.

Trust me.

Rest in me.

Just listen

Listen to a reading of the text below

Daughter, I want you to stop and listen.

I want you to be used to hearing my voice.

You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, my very own possession. You can read those words and know they are true.

I chose you for specific and special work. Look how we are working together now. I love when you listen.

I want you to be used to hearing my voice.

You used to think it wasn’t something you could do, but now look what I have done for you. You wanted communion and closeness with me, and look what I have done.

Keep looking at what I have done, child.

I’ll keep doing it. I’ll keep speaking and keep working through you.

I want you to be used to hearing my voice.

Remember that I am a good father who gives good gifts. Let others know. I want all my children to hear my voice.

You can help me. This is why I gave you your talents.

They are not selfish gifts. They are gifts you can enjoy, but they are helpful, too. They will help and do more than you can imagine, child.

Just listen.

See Psalm 32:8; Psalm 73:28; Psalm 85:8; Psalm 145:18; Isaiah 30:21 and 55:3; Jeremiah 33:3; Matthew 7:11; Mark 4:24-25; Luke 11:28; John 10:27; Romans 10:17; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Hebrews 3:14-15; James 4:8; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 3:20 and 22

Like Esther

Listen to a reading of the text below

I will never tire of you, daughter.

I will never stop loving you and drawing you nearer. Yes, there is still more to do for me and you. Remember that I give you joy. And I will be with you, no matter what.

You won’t mess things up. You are my daughter.

I’ve chosen you for such a time as this. I’ve chosen your skills and abilities. I’ve chosen your husband and children, all for you.

With what I’ve chosen, you will grow and live and see me clearly.

Here and now, I am with you, and I’ll keep showing you the way. Be open to my way. Give up your own.

Remember how I am doing things differently?

Let me work how I work. It is much better, and you only have to listen and rely on me. Yes, come to me, rely on me, rest in me.

Remember this, and remember what I’ve done. Watch what I’m doing. You’ll see it, daughter. You won’t miss it. You won’t miss me because I am so close.

Remember that I hold time. I know what you can do in a day. Give me your day so you can make the most of it.

Shine my light today, and don’t grumble. Do your work, and remember that I have work for you. Aren’t you amazed at what we’ve accomplished so far?

Go, child, and be my vessel. Share my light. We have so much to do together, and I am excited for it.

You can be, too.

Prepare for what’s ahead

Listen to a reading of the text below

Daughter, there’s a lot to do for me and you.

You do not know how much is ahead, but you can trust that it’s good.

Clear your mind from the worries you’ve had. Give them to me.

I know what to do with them. Daughter, you don’t, and that’s okay. It’s not up to you to fix.

I move and work in hearts. I open doors, and the right ones. All you have to do is listen and prepare your heart.

To prepare your heart means to know me better. See how I’m working and what I’m doing.

Pray and listen.

Ask and don’t be afraid.

Seek and keep seeking.

Knock if you think it’s the right door.

If I’ve led you there, it is.

And remember that I know your heart. I know you.

The enemy is telling you this is all silly, but that’s what he does. Don’t listen. Stay focused on me.

I’ve given you a heart to share, to love, to work, to gather others who know me and who will know me.

Trust that with me, you’ll get it right. On your own, you won’t.

You need me, and I’m so glad you do because I love you.

Yes, I’ve said it before, but I cannot say it enough! I’ll say it forever. I’ll say it over and over because you need to know it.

With my love, you are provided for, you are rescued and saved, you are exactly where you need to be, doing exactly what you should do to bring me glory.

When you bring me glory, others will know. Others will have doors opened. Others will know healing and be strengthened.

Others will know I am here.

It’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time. I am patient.

Your potential far outweighs any “trouble” you think you are. You are no trouble.

Do you think you are too difficult for me? No. I delight in being with you, teaching you, showing you, seeing you, holding you,

loving you.

See Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 14:1; Psalm 23:6; Psalm 37:3-4, 7, 17, 23-24, and 34; Psalm 34:10; Psalm 139:1-4 and 17-18; Psalm 145:8-11; Matthew 7:7-8, 11:28-30, and 16:24-26; John 10:10; Romans 2:4 and 8:26-30; Philippians 2:12-16 and 4:19;  1 Peter 5:72 Peter 3:8-9

I made you for this

Listen to a reading of the text below

Daughter, I am doing things differently than you might think.

This is the way I work, and it’s good. You can trust me.

I love you, and I give you good gifts. I am a good Father.

Just keep writing, and let the pen speak. I made you to hold the pen, to let it move as the Spirit wills, to speak and tell about me and my love in creative and beautiful ways.

Do you know that I laid everything out for you?

I chose your grandparents and your mother and father to help you know your place in my kingdom.

It’s not conventional, is it?

Who would have known that you were royalty?

You didn’t even know until you were older, but even before you knew, I knew.

I knew you would accomplish great things for me. I knew your potential and your skill. I gave them to you as gifts. I give them to you still, and I have more to give.

Yes, even more.

It’s just begun, child. Just trust me, and keep moving forward.

Moving forward may look different than you think, but you’ll know it’s me working. Don’t be afraid.

Give me that discomfort and dread and don’t take it back, child. Give it to me so it will be gone for good.

The world can do nothing to you when I am with you. And I am with you always, even until the end of the age.

Until then, enjoy days like this, and do not worry.

Write and think and contemplate with me. You know I love when we do.

I made you for this, child. Remember that I made you with a story to tell and write.

Now tell it, write it.

Let’s work together and produce a masterpiece.

See Deuteronomy 8:17-18; Psalm 138:8; Proverbs 16:9 and 19:21; Isaiah 55:8-9; Matthew 6:25, 6:34, 7:9-11, 11:28-30, 28:18, and 28:20; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 3:20; 1 Peter 2:7-9
